Quant Desk is an engineering practice, not a advisory firm. We are the people traders call when the strategy works in a notebook and falls apart at 09:20, when a backtest shows numbers nobody can reproduce, or when a working system needs to move off a laptop and onto infrastructure that survives a power cut.

How we got here

The practice grew out of twenty years of building and running systematic strategies across Indian index options, equities and futures, alongside a career in production engineering at scale — the kind where an unhandled reconnect is an incident report, not a shrug. That combination is the whole proposition: quant work that is treated like production software, and production software that understands market microstructure.

We have built weekly option-selling books, intraday breakout systems, sector rotation models, event-driven earnings strategies and the unglamorous plumbing beneath all of them: data layers, coverage ledgers, order routers, kill switches, reconciliation jobs.

What we believe

  • Evidence before deployment. Every rule change is a hypothesis with a test attached. We have thrown away far more ideas than we have shipped, and we will happily show you the rejected ones.
  • Costs are part of the strategy. A model that ignores brokerage, STT, impact and slippage is not a strategy, it is a chart.
  • Failure modes are features. The interesting question is not what happens when things go well, it is what the system does at 14:58 when the feed latches and the broker returns an error.
  • Your code is yours. Repositories, keys, cloud accounts and data stay in your name. We work inside your environment, not a black box.

What we will not do

We do not give buy or sell recommendations. We do not manage accounts or accept funds. We do not sell signals, tips or profit-sharing schemes, and we do not quote expected returns — not in a proposal, not in a call, not in a private message. If that is what you are shopping for, we are the wrong firm, and honestly, so is most of the market.

We are not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser, Research Analyst or Portfolio Manager, because we do not provide those services. We provide software engineering and quantitative research services to people who make their own trading decisions. Read the full regulatory disclosure.

Who we work with

Individual systematic traders automating a process they already trade manually. Proprietary desks that need an extra pair of hands on infrastructure. Fintech teams building broker integrations. Family offices validating a strategy before allocating to it. Occasionally, someone who wants an independent second opinion on a vendor's algorithm before they wire money — that one we particularly enjoy.
